Mohan, They were right then, and they were right now. Asia collapsed. Latin America collapsed. And God forbid, the speculators are now going to break the dollar. The educational elite were indeed correct to be scared. This is far WORSE than 1987 because the speculation was more rampant and the valuations more ridiculous. THE WORST part about this is the public involvement and the complacency that the average investor has had during this freefall and the ridiculous justification for asset values when there can be NO justification. Sorry my desi friend, but the market is screwed and this WILL transcend into the economy.
