Dear Brother Shalom, as I was praying, loving the medieval structure of appointed prayer times, I remembered that my beloved Templar Knights of God had various posted times in which all activity ceased and they prayed only as Jesus instructed them to, saying the "Our Father" up to 50 times, about 5 times a day, including popping awake at 2:30 a.m.
I once read a dissection of that perfect prayer, and IN IT is all prayer. So, I've been saying "Our Fathers" except that today was so crazy I literally did not have time to stop long enough to think about it.
Also, there is great comfort in the old Russian Stearate's loving obsession with repeating "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy upon us." They said that endlessly, and it also is almost a perfect prayer. So, for those who cannot think of thing to say, they can say the Lord's Prayer of "Our Father...followed by "Lord Jesus Christ have mercy upon us." And they would still be totally prayed up! Without a bit of vain repetition, I might add. And then would probably be flooded with ideas for exact things to pray about.
There is so much to pray about that it is totally overwhelming.
I was thinking about your comments on Elijah, and how it is time for him. Interesting that right before the Lord Himself returns in person, Elijah, or HIS EXACT SPIRIT, lives in a human once again. The two of them.
I heard something beautiful this morning at the senate hearings on C-Span. Every Republican that spoke said words so identical and similar and familiar that I realized it was almost impossible to do without the coordination of the Holy Spirit.
Our Lord was speaking through these men, and indeed the righteous are at last rising up, the scales are falling from their eyes, and they fear no man, but Him who sent them.
These are leaders well worth praying for. I heard a bit of Elijah in a couple of them from Californaia, of all places. The last place one would imagine such Godly indignation.
The country should be in famine, but instead we have bumper crops. BUT. The horror of the bumper crops is that it appears to be creating a Catch 22 too pathetic to comprehend. The bumper crops are finally putting them totally under.
This is a great potential sadness that I can't put into words. But, they are mostly Christian and being caught in anything so incomprehible will take its toll on the strongest of Christians if they can't look at through scripture.
For some reason the bumper crop discussions are spooking me deeply, and they seem to hide something I can't quite see. All I know is we should pray the bumper crop is not potentially as disasterous as it seems to be-- and that quite controlled and elaborately set up by those who control such things as a huge bumper crop destroying the last of generations of farmers.
There is an air of unreality about everything any more, it seems. Anyway, I pray a lot these days and have almost perfect peace more and more. Daily I give thanks for such things, and for as long as they last.
Oh, as for my friend Karen, she's close enough to God to know that she needed HIS protection over her life and her property, and that she had a satanic, overtly and obviously, witch living next door doing and saying very satanic things. And of course, if she was not close enough to God she could never have seen or recognized such behavior.
I am sure the prayers here have stopped the intent behind the actions of her neighbor, which were sounding quite dangerous, actually. But I am sure the Lord has fully interceded in that matter. |
