This gives us the perfect excuse to stop all landing rights to any State that flies to or from Iran.

nypost.com Iran knew right away it shot down Ukrainian plane but lied for days anyway

“That surely is the light from a missile,” the pilot of another plane told the Tehran airport control tower moments before the missile took out a Ukrainian passenger jet on Jan. 8, killing all 176 innocents aboard.

It’s the end of a taped exchange that Iranian authorities had from the start — although they stonewalled for three full days before viral video evidence forced them to admit the truth.

(Even now, it’s still refusing to hand over Flight 752’s black boxes.)

It was already clear that Iran had engaged in a coverup after shooting down the Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737. But the new evidence of the recording shows just how wicked Tehran’s brutal regime really is.

This week a Ukrainian media outlet got hold of that recording of the conversation between the Iranian pilot of an Aseman Airlines jetliner and the control tower.

The Aseman flight was headed for landing when its pilot radioed: “Flares on route, as if from a missile. Should anything like this be happening there?”

“We were not informed of this,” the air-traffic controller replied. “What does this light look like?”

The pilot identified “the light from a missile” just before the larger flare of the hit.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirms the recording is authentic, and Tehran is not disputing it.

(In fact, a state-run newspaper reports that the tower had “a similar exchange” with a Qatar Airways pilot.)

But Tehran is still angry at Ukraine for daring to tell the truth, and has suspended cooperation with Kiev in the investigation. Tehran is also miffed that Zelensky rejected its offer of $80,000 per victim as restitution for the catastrophe.

It’s long past time for the civilized world to treat Iran’s government as the criminal regime it is.
