I was wondering what the minimum sentence is for ripping up that document, given that mandatory minimums are in place in other areas.

Or is an "up to" and "no more than" situation.

Does that still go on, mandatory minimums and capped maximums?

I wonder if anyone ever did a study of the sorts of crimes that these limits are attached to.

I'm going to hazard a guess that the types of crimes lawyers are more likely to commit fall into the "no more than" column.

And then there's always the prosecutors discretion. It is widely accepted that when crimes are not prosecuted there is an overriding good involved. So, if none of the current batch of crooks is charged, I assume some larger good is being served.

What might that good be, I wonder.
