Who said anything about "without pain"...the last years of the Great Recession were painful to many but the Stimulus plus the progressive, yes liberal, safety nets of fixed pensions, medicare, medicaid, social security, unemployment insurance kept Americans from the streets while the Ryans and repugs talked Austerity instead of acting on jobs bills to further relieve the pain.

Now, eliminating the cap on Social Security payroll taxes will cause some "pain" but "save" Social Security, implementing Obamacare and modifying it as necessary will start us on a path to affordable healthcare for all Americans, rightsizing our so called "defense" budget will not be without "pain" as we cut back on that Socialism and setting tax rates to properly stop the ridiculous "carried interest" rate and look at reforms and simplification of our tax system...lots of pain out there for those living off that form of Socialism.
