What we should take away from this and other incidents is that APPEASEMENT DOES NOT WORK. Indonesia, like Saudi Arabia, has attempted to APPEASE the militant Islamic Fanatics for years, all it has gotten them is stronger organizations, more bombings and death to innocent civilians and in the case of Bali, perhaps the last nail in the coffin of the tourist industry. (which is what the militants are trying to do).
The ONLY thing these militants and their supporters understand is DEATH. A strong resistance will ultimately wipe them out and DISCOURAGE others from supporting them.
The mere fact the USA removed the governments of Afghanistan and Iraq over TERROR has been enough to discourage any other governments from participating in attacks on our soil, even through subversion. If we should foolishly elect another weak President like Clinton was we can expect further attacks HERE. jdn
