You can hardly call Intel or AMD advocates cult-like. Steve Jobs is a very shrewd guy, and he knows just who his target audience is. He's merely feeding his audience more propaganda to spread to the world. If he says an iMac is faster than a Pentium II 400 MHz, you can bet that the followers of the Church of Apple will say exactly the same things to their friends, or their customers, or their clients.

I just don't see that level of fanaticism with Intel or AMD advocates. And even if there was, I just can't imagine Barrett or Sanders willing to (or being any good at) taking advantage of it like Steve Jobs can.
