The governor is very busy celebrating the state wide standardized testing program, which is working to bring the low end kids up to standard; however our future depends on developing the gifts of the high end kids who are leaving the public education system in droves.

I called one state senator who seemed to think private ed competition was a good place for the high end kids to compete. I am trying to get the motivation to push harder for a state education referendum to fund Gifted programs in public schools (there are some but they are underfunded and there is no obligation to offer services or rights for gifted children to receive services... a whole other nest of corruption lies in that situation). So far I can't get people to hear me over the noisy back patting related to our success at being average.
