OT. Overall environment so different from my experience, made me uncomfortable. I'm a nervous guy to begin with. (If I had to work or travel in this area at night, I might have been very very concerned.) People inside the bank were as nice as I was used to. People outside the bank that I interacted with -- restaurants, parking, etc. -- all good. I've good memories of my time working there.

This book, Influence, by Cialdini is a classic, and in my opinion a must read. I've kept my copy. Didn't keep me from getting scammed though, even though the con artist used the same techniques as I read. I could almost see it coming, but not quite. Shook my head in admiration for this scammer (but I could've strangled him too). Went back and reread the book yet again. Keep telling myself - next time, no matter what, I'm not pulling my wallet out of my pocket. |
