HellQat, I was curious about the moniker, but didn't ask because I don't usually pose questions from idle curiosity.

You're correct, of course, about the need for Valence to be diplomatic and respect customers' wishes. I'm constantly surprised at the contradictions in the character of a man who, on the one hand appears as clumsy as the proverbial bull in a China shop, but whom can also be as light as a ballerina. The bull, which can't seem to remember his own name sometimes, displays the savy and finesse of the dancer, reining in the sales force and dealing discreetly with customers while letting a quality product speak volumes.

Contrast this with the embarrassing behavior at ULBI where their marketing mavens create more problems than orders. This suggests an imbalance in the relationship between sales and engineering; a problem which was avoided at VLNC.
