Minority Preferences. The country has a compelling interest in achieving a diverse court. That is why Brown is so good for conservatives, she fills more than one preference set aside. This is why the left is so against her. They cannot let a Republican get credit for appointing minority jurists, it would harm their efforts to keep the minorities on the farm.
