Anacomp Document Solutions Teams with CSC In Support of San Diego County Outsourcing Program

SAN DIEGO, May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp(R) Document Solutions, a leading provider of document-management services and a business unit of Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), today announced it will partner with Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC), on an existing outsourcing contract with the County of San Diego.

CSC is the lead company of the Pennant Alliance which was awarded a $644 million contract in October 1999 to create a virtual government for the County of San Diego that will provide its citizens greater accessibility to County services. The contract, the largest information technology outsourcing project undertaken by a local government agency in the United States, covers the full spectrum of information and telecommunications services including software applications, help desk, networks, desktop and data center operations, telephones and pagers.

As a subcontractor, Anacomp Document Solutions will provide microfiche and laser print services for County departments. Anacomp expects to process approximately 70 million pages of print and 50 million pages to microfiche per year. Anacomp also plans to introduce next-generation technologies, and transition county documents and records to its CD and Web-based services.

Anacomp values its share of the contact at more than $5 million. The three-year contract also includes four one-year options for a total of seven years.

"We're extremely pleased to add this San Diego-based company to our home town Pennant Alliance team," said Richard Jennings, CSC vice president, and lead executive of the Pennant Alliance. "In addition to its large local presence, Anacomp provides comprehensive disaster recovery programs, secure, high-volume operations, redundant centers, and a clear commitment to customer service and satisfaction."

"We're pleased to be part of the Pennant Alliance, San Diego County's information technology outsourcing partner," said Donald W. Thurman, chief operating officer of Anacomp, Inc. "In concert with CSC, we look forward to leveraging our expertise in document-management outsourcing to create new cost efficiencies for the citizens of San Diego County."
