Hand Held Products Introduces an All-Purpose Portable Data Collection Computer with Windows® CE for Manufacturing and Distribution Enterprises
Skaneateles Falls, NY -- Hand Held Products®, a Welch Allyn® affiliate, has announced a versatile all-purpose "imaging processor" handheld computer with Windows® CE operating system which automatically reads and decodes all popular bar codes, PDF 417 code, 2D matrix codes, OCR fonts (Optical Character Recognition), and captures digital images of such things as damage claim objects, shipping manifests, and signatures. Dubbed the Dolphin® 7400-2D, the device features a state of the art CMOS digital-image-camera with integrated image-processor. Available in "batch-download" or wireless 2.4GHz, the all-purpose imager eliminates the need to use different data collection devices throughout the enterprise.
This Windows™ CE handheld device incorporates broad functionality and is intended as a tool in the manufacturing and distribution enterprise where incoming, on-hand, and outgoing materials and shipments, marked with different bar code and 2D symbols must be read or signatures and images recorded. Dolphin 7400-2D features (up to) 64MB memory and 206 MHz Intel® StrongARM® high performance, low power, RISC Processor – making it ideally suited for Windows® CE operating system. The Windows CE device is offered in a choice 3 keypads and features a large, easy-to-view (240 x 320 pixels) backlit quarter-VGA display. A touchscreen is also available.
Lighting conditions in manufacturing and distribution environments can vary, so Dolphin 7400-2D is designed to work in darkness or dim light. The computer ¼-screen display acts as a viewfinder for image-capture. It is possible to capture 6 images per minute and store more than 100 images.
