Several months ago, Intel thought it was getting a buy when they converted their invoice to additional VTEL stock. In its history, Intel has been where Vtel is now, perhaps, for not as long. Intel is both Vtel's competitor and major shareholder. Only in America. Intel's interest in Vtel is purely for information, both in technology and in marketing. I have to believe that Intel quietly signed off on the merger between Vtel and Compression Labs. The fact that the stock is down to $6, shouldn't bother them too much. As soon as video conferencing becomes more economically accessible, Intel will move into this market with both feet. It will either do it by itself, or if it proves more economical they will buy the remaining shares of Vtel that they do not already own. What is a fair price? $18 to $22. Don't ask me how I got that number, but I know $10 - $12 is not.
