Not only did I address the question I did so directly and with precision. There appears to be no downside in withdrawal.

Which question does "no downside" address? Not the one I asked.

I think the upside is apparent. We can renegotiate or simply do what is necessary to prevent the regime from getting weapons we don’t think they should have.

So we start from scratch, plus or minus whatever river has flowed under the bridge since then? How many years do you suppose that might take? How much backsliding would you expect the Iranians to have done over that period of time? Do you think Iran wouldn't have a bomb by then?

If you enter into an agreement with the US knowing it lacks bipartisan support you should sssume it is non binding.

So, how many years do you think getting Congressional ratification would add to the process of getting this replacement agreement in place? What makes you think that the ME wouldn't be glowing by then? What makes you think that Trump would still be able to chew a steak?

I cannot comprehend the notion of allowing that horrible deal to stand.

Unfortunately, I can comprehend dumping the old deal before an alternative had been at least sketched out. I can comprehend such recklessness only because I've been watching the bull in the china shop for a long time now.
