I'm not in a position to contradict it, but I find it hard to believe.

There is a great deal of argument by extension in the whole process; if a few commentators were not respectful of Hillary, then there was a massive outpouring of sexism in the media.

Because Hillary is a woman and she lost narrowly, there must be massive misogyny directed at any and all female candidates for president.

None of it holds up under any kind of actual statistical scrutiny, but the argument serves a purpose for those making it, to vindicate the loss and the subsequent disappointment. And anything from Obama from now on that isn't perfect and successful will be proof by default that Hillary was right all along, and her loss was the result of unfairness and sexism.

"Believing" is about all you can do with arguments like these. They only work when taken on faith by the faithful.
