I agree -- greed in trying to time a stock precisely has led to more lost opportunities than almost anything else.

In my case, I set targets for all the stocks I'm interested in, toss out limit orders, and wait for them to come to me. Sometimes it takes six months or a year, but eventually most of them come to Mama. Or they don't, in which case I didn't want them anyhow since all they did was go up! <g>
