Sure winner if

If a company can come up with a upgradeable removable harddrive, they would take the market hands down.

Iomega would be a clear winner if:

1. make a removable which can read a floppy holding, 100 MB, 500 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB.

2. If VHS machines can read 4, 6, 8 hour tapes why can't a company make at least a removable which people can upgrade without discarding the old equipment.

3. IF some company could create the specs for this machine they would not alienate customers. They can also sell assorted tape formats to suit the individual needs.
