Gregory. We are dealing with a story out of Japan. These stories have in the past been distorted. There is a lot of money at stake and those quotes attributed to the JApanese manager are of a nature that would not normally be released by any major company in the US. The attached post fails to confirm them and indicated QCOM's accellerating release dates.

I just got off the phone with IR at QCOM regarding the 4500 ASIC. I was told that it would be shipping in
quantity by summer. This chip is intended for use on PC cards or for high speed data capable phones. I don't
recall hearing much about this recently.

Also, the person I talked to was not aware of any official release made by QCOM regarding bidding for
spectrum in Japan. I have inquired further via email and I'll post the results of that inquiry when available.

It sounds as if things are very much up in the air due to the high level of FUD and QCOM itself is starting to get
annoyed with it.
