I didn't say it was fair that those who want what ideally used to be have to take the additional steps, although some already are with covenant marriages, but the train has long since left the station. There hasn't been much correlation between procreation and marriage for most of my adult life and there's no reason to think that will ever again be the case. The same-sex marriage issue forces people to accept by means of a blunt instrument what they have been in denial about for a long time. It's tough to give up the ghost. But there's also some benefit in ending the hypocrisy and acknowledging what civil marriage really is--definitely not a picket fence anymore, if it ever was.

The agenda to undermine the traditional marriage

I don't think there ever was an agenda to undermine marriage. Times just changed.
