The big beneficiaries will be the internet infrastructure suppliers, Cisco, Nortel, Lucent, etc. and their suppliers like JDSU, who supply the raw bandwidth, or the last mile people either wireless or xDSL. These have been high-flyers and valuations are very high. I like to have a chunk of money in the next level down in vendors who will return 20%+ growth year after year, regardless of which of the technologies or companies win out.

In IC's I have ADI for their DSP, conversion, xDSL and wireless chips.

In software, I am holding Wind for its strong position in the coming ubiquitous computing revolution.

I don't think anyone will dominate this market the way Windows did. In these products the OS will be nearly invisible. No one will care who supplied the basic OS in their VCR or car engine control module.

If Wind continues to provide good products and maintains its market share, then market growth alone should give us good long term returns.

As hardware gets cheaper, the size and complexity of the software always grows rapidly and this should drive many developers towards off the shelf OS's like VxWorks.
