They are simply trying to understand whether there will be big tax loss selling (which can be guestimated by knowing the acquisition date and price). Hmmm... In order to sell stocks for tax losses you usually need a few winners that you are looking to offset. Given my portfolio of biotechs right now, I'd be hard pressed to sell any at a gain. My only consolation is that "investors" who bought amazon at its peak are finally getting their just rewards. Larry
