I've not read the future comments beyond your remarks, but I'm commenting now. I'm certain others will preface my remarks to you on your last post. If not, I'd be surprised. But here's what I think of what you said.
What you said, "This company is practicing illegal business practices," must be verified by you.
Can you?
I doubt it.
Matty, you have to stop making a bad situation out of the fact that everything does not happen according to how you wish it would. You've made an extremely strong statement and cannot back up your words. Please do be advised that you should be careful, or you'll end up in a court attempting to defend your remarks. I won't even say what you said is illegal, you'll have to come to your own conclusion on that.
Were I working hard on behalf of this company, I wouldn't appreciate an insult such as you've just hurled. Those folks have families too, and they rest on their own good intentions to provide for those families. Tom Burgess just had a baby. You're saying he's illegally supporting it?!? This is an example of why slander is against the law. Everybody (and companies are, believe it or not, legally treated as people) gets a fair shot. Supposedly.
Jon Tara, earlier, did make a noteworthy comment. His comment was, to the effect, be careful what you say as your words may become part of a record. Indeed, they could. If a company thought an individual were purposefully spreading untrue information, they can become sued for libel.
I once saw an extremely profuse apology and disavowal of previous remarks from an individual, who was taken to task by the company of which he was spreading false information. Based on what you said, NETZ could easily do this against you. Fact.
As much as should be careful what Jon Tara says--not legally, but morally (in terms of his earlier hint-drop of an "investigation," so should you also. I say this because, Matty, you're out of bounds, as was Jon then.
And it's my investment that you're out of bounds on. I'm gong to object. I do object to what you said.
Though not formally, I would encourage the company to issue you a legal warning regarding the nature of your above-quoted remarks. |
