I would agree, Benny. I'd say they were hard at work trying to come up with a structure, and trying to decide what they were going to do and say, and what technology they use. But, with no staffing, no management, other than a "committee" headed by a Chase guy, I'd tend to believe that they haven't really begun the hard work. I'd also say that it is VERY likely that they have seriously underestimated the undertaking. On the flip side, they do have treasury management/relationship people in place who have dealt with larger billers for years on the lockbox side, and thus do have the potential to hold these guys in place for some period of time. ie. we'll lower your lockbox fees NOW if you'll wait until...(pick a date). I hope a couple of things...that they don't get pressured into suggesting that they are in fact going after the whole ball of wax, and that the portals don't get buffaloed into waiting. I also hope they keep VISA involved as that will alienate MC banks, and because VISA has repeatedly proven its ineptitude several times now.
