What the hell is it with Hack these days? He starts off praising the Apache, and ends up knocking it. LB, Hack has sold his soul for media $. His writing goal now seems to be controversy...the lifeblood of reporting. What he failed to mention is that not only the Apache...every helo we flew and fly on many OPS in Afghani are ill-suited for some of the terrain. We are not well equipped at any level of our forces to conduct combat OPS 10,000 feet or more above MSL. Fortunately we seldom have to do it. The best helicopter for flying high altitude OPS in Afghani is the Russian Hind. Our SpecOPS guys have them and so does the CIA. Hack knows that..but I would not expect him to point out that we solved the problem before starting the game. uw
