In 1987 the fed had all the room to provide liquidity they needed. Market turned around on a dime, but markets also had no real fears. today the fears are real and there is little poitical ammo left.

So I don't see how the US or Europe can quell this thing?

2 hours to gold opening. I would be very surprised if it opened down.
