Well, those two descriptions indicate that medical reits are basically reits that invest exclusively in medical properties. They don't appear to operate the businesses that exist in the medical roperties.

So it makes me wonder, why is investing in hospitals or hospice or after care facilities - but not operating the underlying businesses, - preferable to investing in buildings which have nothing to do with health care?

Any idea?

I'm not sure providing mortgage lending to a Cancer treatment facility is better than providing mortgages in general. Is it?
