China and Africa: Bono, Bob Geldof, Madonna are no doubt all nice people meaning well in their attempts to help Africans. But their ideology is a welfare mentality which is very dangerous as it leads people into economic catstrophes when the cash flow is turned off due to financial exigencies back home.

It's far better to do as the British did, which was run a British Empire including Africa and introduce modern ways of doing things. Pay the local yokels to do things which the British wanted done.

China is now doing what the British started.

1.3 billion Chinese and 800 million Africans can be of great mutual benefit. China has the money and can buy the know how, Africans can do the work, everyone can benefit.

We have ElM stringing fibre across Angola for example, in cahoots with Huawei who are becoming the world's biggest CDMA/OFDM installer of infrastructure and are developing the whole mobile cyberspace industry. That benefits me via Qualcomm and other things [such as cheaper and better wifi equipment]
