Vic-- My father said the country side was beautiful. The weather was terrible though. My mother has pictures of him in Germany with children and survivors of the concentration camps. He never wanted to return until right before he died and never made it.. Thank you for the message. Although he has been gone for a long time I still miss him. He was a strong man,, the only time I saw him really angry was when he found out I went into SF, the only time I saw a tear in his eye was when I left for overseas.. he did not talk about the war,, except the good times, people and especially children.... but you could tell he remembered at times...
