Baker, Christopher rattle sabers over Florida voting dispute;
Palm Beach County orders hand count of all 425,000 ballots

MSNBC

Nov. 12 — While awaiting Monday’s hearing on a federal lawsuit aiming to prevent further recounts of the vote in Florida, the point men for the campaigns of George W. Bush and Al Gore took their cases to the American public Sunday. Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” James Baker, Bush’s representative, called on Gore to abide by the results of a concluded machine recount and mail-in absentee ballots still to be counted. Gore’s spokesman, Warren Christopher, countered that the manual recounts Bush is seeking to block can be completed in “a matter of days.”
