That's cuz the trend is your friend, and many a folk has gone belly up (some figuratively, some literally) predicting the turning points. I've been hearing about the demise of life-as-we-know-it for 40 years, and it ain't happened yet. Even the tech bust proved to be but a ripple on the pond surface for the economy as a whole, which is all that is important in the broad scheme of things. As for the sub-prime problem? What problem? Ain't going to have any meaningful or lasting economic effect, except for those in that market segment -- there are always going to be losers in the game. You just got to be sure you are not one of them, if for no other reason than somebody has to take care of those who do.
