Newt Gingrich once taught a class at Reinhardt College, in Walesra, Georgia, back before he became Speaker of the House. It was titled "Renewing American Civilization". The course focuses through ten two-hour lectures on "identifying and fostering the underlying values and attitudes that enable free markets, private enterprise, and democratic systems to prosper". This course was recorded and put on VHS video tape, subsequently used in over 100 colleges and universities, and was broadcast over the cable channel Mind Extension University sometime ago, back in the early 1990s I believe. I was fortunate to catch most of these lectures. This was my earliest exposure to Gingrich and his ideas, and I was enormously impressed. The material is wonderful, a blueprint for exactly what the title says. I don't know whether or not these videos are still available to be purchased. Neither Amazon nor Ebay has them, although I did notice on Amazon that there are 10 used copies of an audio tape version of this course. If anyone knows of a source for these videos, please post same here.
