Hugh, I'm not beyond discussing history but starting every note with lines from the original "Saturday Night Live" (like, Jane, you ignorant Slut) doesn't exactly endear you to the crowd. Historians will write what they like, through the glasses from which they view. Although inflation was a part of Carters demise it had no where near the effect that Iran and the Ayatollah had on his defeat. Couple that with the perception (and reality) that he was a weak and naive President and "poof" the guy was out of there. And yes, I'm well aware that Carter appointed Paul Volker.
