You are absolutely correct in saying that (The Domino Theory and the Gulf of Tonkin Incident in 1964).

But there's more! When the Vietnam War could have been ended honourably, both Johnson and later Nixon refused to do so because neither of them wanted to be the first president in US history to lose a war. That's unbridled arrogance and hubris!

History repeats itself! Like Johnson and Nixon before him, Bush refuses to end the Iraq War because of his arrogance and hubris!
