Jefferson "The day will come when the (myth of Jesus being born in a virgin womb) will be classified with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter" Jefferson " I find in orthodox (meaning evangelical rightwing) Christianity not a single redeeming feature" Jefferson "The Bible is not my book and Christianity not my religion" Abraham Lincoln (founder of the GOP) Franklin also doubted the divinity of Jesus. Adams called fundamentalism absurd. Madison called it arrogant and ignorant superstition. And Thomas Paine said he does not believe in any church, summing up the American spirit as- "My own mind is my own church". - hitting what America means in a nutshell. Freedom of religion means NO religion even a majority one should be mixed with the American state. The word "God" does not belong to Christianity or penatacostals or any other sect. The religious right need to bugger off.
