Duke: I hope your version is the correct one. But the floor brokers and clearing agents said that redemption began accelerating in earnest in the past week. Also with all the indexes being down and MSFT being in just about all that would put continual selling pressure on MSFT as the indexes wind down. I suppose there has been a good bit of margin call of individuals going on and they have been selling their best cash generator as well. I hope this stops sooner than later.

Level II shows Bids to the left and Asks to the right. The Last at the top indicates where the bid and ask settled their instantaneous negotiations. Lately what has been seen are a lot of guys principally INCA (Instinet) coming in with a lowball ask on top of the current Ask with a lot of stock and this drives the bid side way down to where the order can be balanced against the number of shares bid.

Of course on a good day it will work in reverse.
