COSTA MESA, Calif., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Canon Computer Systems Inc.
(CCSI) continues to deliver state-of-the-art technology in personal computers
as the first manufacturer to offer 12x CD-ROM in its new multimedia systems
announced today. Canon introduces six new Innova Media MT systems now
available ranging in price from $1,499* to $3,299*.
The new line of Innova Media PCs is the eighth generation of quality
multimedia computer systems released from CCSI. They are designed to surpass
the technological capabilities consumers demand. Installed features include
an internal Iomega(R) 100MB ZIP(TM) Drive that provides better storage
alternatives, 3D Video/Graphics and Wavetable Audio which provide more
realistic visuals and sounds with the 3D gaming applications, EDO RAM memory
with Pipeline Burst cache and 33.6 SVD (Simultaneous Voice & Data) modems.
For the consumer looking for the ultimate in processing power, the Innova
Media MT 9800 features a 200MHz Intel Pentium processor. Along with the
increased speed, the MT 9800 comes with a 12x CD-ROM, an internal Iomega ZIP
Drive, 32MB EDO RAM and a 3.1GB hard drive. Game enthusiasts will appreciate
the six-button, eight-point directional game pad included with both the MT
9800 as well as the Innova Media MT 9630. Both the MT 9800 and the MT 9630
also offer 3D Video/Graphics and Wavetable Audio with 1MB of ROM storage.
For the consumer looking for a powerful PC at a great price, Canon offers
the Innova Media MT 9630 and the Innova Media MT 9620. Both computers boast a
166MHz Intel Pentium processor, 16MB EDO RAM memory, 2.1GB hard drive and a
12x CD-ROM drive. The MT 9630 is available for approximately $2,399*, while
the MT 9620 should have an estimated street price of $2,199*.
Canon's mainstream computer offering includes the Innova Media MT 9350, MT
9340, and the MT 9210. The MT 9350 and the MT 9340 feature a 133MHz Intel
Pentium processor, 16MB EDO RAM memory, 1.6GB hard drive and an 8x CD-ROM.
Like the MT 9800, the MT 9350 also offers users the Iomega ZIP Drive. Ideal
for first-time buyers, the 120MHz Innova Media MT 9210 offers 16MB of RAM,
1.6GB hard drive and 8X EIDE CD-ROM.

Standard Innova Media MT Features
The entire Innova Media MT line features 33.6 Simultaneous Voice/Data
(SVD) modems, which give users the ability to talk to one another while
transmitting data or playing interactive games. Along with the advanced
modems, CCSI has also added Radish Talkshop. With Radish Talkshop, Canon's
highly qualified technical support assistants now can remotely examine a
customer's PC and diagnose many technical problems on the same phone line the
customer called in on, providing quick and easy solutions to the end user.
All Innova Media MT computers are equipped with Canon custom-designed
stereo speakers with separate mid-range and tweeter elements, offering
theater-quality sound for multimedia applications. In addition, the systems
are configured with PCI local bus video, 64-bit graphics accelerator with
hardware-assisted MPEG playback, 16-bit sound card with 3D Spatializer,
speaker phone, microphone and infrared (IrDA) interface for wireless file
transfer and printing.

The Innova Media MT series ships with Microsoft Windows(R) 95 and provides
a large number of pre-loaded applications, including six Internet-access
options: Netcom's NetCruiser, Netscape, CompuServe, America Online, AT&T
WorldNet Services and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
The MT systems also bundle Microsoft Works 4.0 for Windows 95, Intuit's
Quicken SE '96 Multimedia, FocalPoint, Full Armor Windows 95 Protect/Undo as
well as such CD titles as Compton's 96 Interactive Encyclopedia (MPEG CD),
Microsoft Games Sampler, Launch Magazine and Grolier's Greg Norman Ultimate
Challenge Golf. Additional gaming titles included with Innova Media MT 9800
and MT 9630 are Descent II, Havoc and Terminal Velocity.
