Attacks against Nancy stopped dead after Reagan threatened any man who wants to bash her to go through him first. That was a manly thing to do, both for Ronnie and John Kerry who both love their wives. The public applauded. These wives are not running for office. They're off limits. The rightwing has made a habit of attacking wives for the past ten years. It's vile and dishonest. The Democrats have never attacked Laura Bush. You would be incensed if they did. Yet Laura regularly campaigns, makes statements defending her husband and raises money. She is very active in the campaign, yet the Dems are decent gentlemen (and gentle ladies) while the right are just downright creepy and sexist. These attacks on Theresa are going to backfire big-time for the rightwing. If necessary, Kerry will throw it in GW's face and demand he order it to stop. Kerry may also call out any journalist who smears Theresa for which in essence would be a fightfight. John has actually killed enemy with his bare hands so he's not afraid of a fight. If this happens, the public will roar with applause for JK and make the rightwingers look like petty little varmits.
