Lawrence, I think the fundamentals are: plus side: - big demand curve for the product - remodeling, write downs mostly now known factors - some signals the inventories are coming under control - some better signals that QNTM and SEG are favored - material prices well under control - hopefull news in the U.S. and Euro economies - signs of some recovery in selected Asian markets - selected issues at 2 year lows minus and unknown side: - execution on BTO - mid range market execution - Indonesia loose cannon - Japan bank uncertainty - reservation re: Yuan (deval or not) As to possible consolidation I tend to believe this favors QNTM and SEG. The issues I don't particularly like right now are heads and media. The latter is more over capacity then the rest of the industry and both are long term affected by internal (vertical integration) programs. A clear winner is less easy to see here IMO. Best, Stitch
