I would like to support James Baloun in his contributions to this thread. While I find Bill Wexler's ideas provocative, his rudeness gets in the way of anyone listening and drives away people from whom we all can learn. I'm sorry that James is leaving. I hope that Bill will express his opinions without insulting others.

As to the 'hoax' that Y2K cannot be a big deal because it would have shown up already - there are many, many 'housekeeping' functions that happen with file storage, purge programs, interval date/time stamping and synchronization that will not happen until 12/31/99 rolls over to the year 2000. If everyone promises to be civil, I'll be happy to come back and explain.
