Money? Yes, agreed. We need to do something about campaign financing. The 527s are a good place to start.

As George Will and many, many others tried to point out, the so-called campaign finance reform bill is unconstitutional. Ads are speech. Period.

My solution to the issue would not be to bar 527s. I recommend allowing any organization or any individual to spend any amount of money they wished to to support any candidate, or in advocacy of any public issue they wanted to support. The only restriction being, that they must publicly report that donation or that sponsorship immediately, on the web.

Keep the public informed about the actual source of political money. The blogs would take care of the rest.
