global,

I agree on the use of the AGP port. The Colorgraphics AGP card wasn't available when I purchased but depending on the price (while I do want the best I want it as cheap as possible) you should definitely give it a serious look. The S3 Savage 3D chipset on the Colorgraphics predator is a newer generation than the Riva 128, better at 3D, and the card has double the memory per channel (all overkill for general windows / quote chart use but results in less processor / RAM use and if it's the same price or less why not?).

Monitors, I am using Viewsonic PS790s happily ($525), also Hitachi Super Scan Elite 751 ($500) are generally considered razor sharp and best in their class, and finally for a bargain consideration I continue to be EXTREMELY impressed with the CTX VL-950S ($350!).
