The UN Security Council withdrew the UN mission from Rwanda at the urging of the United States. The United States knew full well what was going on but wouldn't get involved or allow the UN to get involved so soon after the debacle in Somalia. The French acted on their own to intervene and saved tens of thousands of Tutsi lives.

The U.S. has as much blood on its hands as any nation for its role in the Rwandan affair.
