A story....

In the sunday school class that my parents attend regularly a man related the following which happened to him some years ago:

A some point in his early married life, this fellow's wife had just had a baby, and they had prayed for God to help them find the money to pay the maternity bill of $300 (it must have been a looooonnnngggg time ago <g>).

For some reason, this fellow was in Wichita, KS and was listening to the radio. Over the air came a plea from a woman living in Tulsa who had lost her dog while visiting in Wichita. She asked that if anyone should find the dog that they take it to the Wichita Humane's Society. There would be a reward to the person who found the dog.

The gentleman was driving past Shepler's (a well known cowboy and western store in Wichita) when he saw this dog wander out onto the highway. Amazingly, this dog went through 4 lanes of traffic and never got hit. As the gentleman drove a little further, he wonder to himself if this was the dog the woman in Tulsa was looking for as it looked rather similar.

He turned his car around, drove back to the spot where he last saw the dog, and found the dog sitting on the opposite side of the store, also the lane he was driving back on. He pulled his car over, opened the door, and without hesitation or coaxing, the dog jumped right into his car.

He drove the dog to the Humane's Society and dropped it off. It was in fact the dog that the woman from Tulsa was looking for. They took his name and address, and said they would pass it on to the woman who owned the dog.

A week or so later, this fellow and his wife recieved a check for $300.

True story.

Just wanted to pass it along as it was rather amazing to listen to when I heard it. I think it says something about the power of prayer.
