Don't know if Stern did anything or not, but my guess is for some reason, he ran her life. He looks the type. He probably tried, and maybe succeeded, to oversee everything she did every day every minute. Most people couldn't stand that kind of stress for too long, especially if she had massive other kinds of stress going on at the same time. Very sad.
