I use Etrade, and they scared the hell out of me this morning. I sold a bunch of stocks yesterday and put it all into Intel at 129 5/8. So thinking what a great decision I made I checked my portfolio at Etrade and they had everything on Margin or worse I had shorted all the stocks I sold yesterday. I don't know about you but shorting CSCO, COMS, USRX and SUNW doesn't get me excited at all, it fills me with great fear.
So I called them right away and they assured me I hadn't shorted anything or put anything on margin. They said it would all work through the system by monday. I hope so, but I didn't like the method it reports my current holdings to me, almost had a heart attack.
They are fast, yet their account position info is rather busy, I just want to know what I own, and how much cash I have. All that other junk about margin available, loan available, yada yada yada, I can do without. |
