One big problem with yesterday's conference call, which I should have posted last night, was that the analysts were asking for help with direction beyond Q1 and Q2 and S3 management weren't able to give any substantial comments on that.

After the conference call, I came out with the feeling that S3 was saying, "... here are the numbers ... here are some of the products we're working on ... but as far as any hardcore estimates beyond Q1 goes -- you're on your own".

It's again that "cautious optimism". So without much guidance beyond Q1, if you were the analyst what would you conclude? It's tough to come up with numbers without concrete guidance from the company. As a result, wouldn't you, the analyst, come up with numbers on the conservative side?

I know it's tough but I'm basically putting a lot of trust into S3 management, their engineers, and their marketing and sales staff. Why? Because they've delivered in the past and although this is not a guarantee for the future...(fill in the blank)

As far as trading goes, I have some "core" holdings that I don't touch and I've been trading in and out of this stock because it has turned into a great trading stock without even spending much time...
