Dick,

I've never noticed any slowdown due to MSSE or anything else for that matter. I have 8GB DDR3 SDRAM (of which my 1GB GDDR5 Graphics card steals about 3 or 4 GB - I don't know why but have bothered stopping it as I don't have any performance issues.).

I only do Scans when my PC would otherwise be idle. I'm set up for a quick scan but manually do a full scan at least once a Quarter.

The only time MSSE found something was when I transferred files form my old PC to the new one.

If I don't find an infection by year end, I'll probably quit doing full scans unless I change my browsing habits.

While I've seldom had anything good to say about new MSFT releases and especially their "free" stuff, I'm close to ecstatic about both Win 7 and MSSE. Even Windows Live is a tolerable replacement for Outlook.

FWIW,
Ian
