Olbermann: Fox News Should Be “Quarantined” By Rob on June 1, 2009 Say Anything blog Because Bill O’Reilly killed George Tiller, or something. video here. I’m guessing he used the word “quarantine” instead of “censored” because only hateful fascist conservatives want to censor things. Truth-telling Edward R. Murrow types like Keith Olbermann would never want to silence dissent. Sarcasm aside, what you’re seeing here is an extreme version of what started yesterday. Some nut shoots a notorious abortionist, and immediately the left starts making political hay. No mourning. No empathy. Just straight to the partisan hackery. After all, what better way to silence your critics than to claim that they aid and abet murder with the very words they speak? I wonder how Olbermann would feel if someone had shot George W. Bush after hearing one of his rants about how our former President was as bad as the terrorists. Would he take the sort of responsibility that he’s now trying to lay at O’Reilly and Fox News’ feet? Or would he suddenly cling to a different standard of what is and is not “hate speech”? My guess is that, as usual, Olbermann’s position will be calculated to coincide not so much with reality but whatever is most convenient for his politics. sayanythingblog.com
