What you are saying may be the case with the French - but not with any self-respecting Islamic radicals. Those dudes will find fault with anything which stands between them and their Jihadi Caliphate glory. They are not reactive in this conflict, they are pro-active... they are the initiators.

Disadvantaged people? Respect and protection for individual's rights may help repair that.... Let them get a form of government they should be aspiring to have. And there is no need to be a superpower. Many small nations are doing wonderfully well.
